Worst/Best Trades in Sports history aside from Babe Ruth.

I am biased because I am a LA sports fan as a youth.
Pedro Martinez to Expos for Delino Deshields to Dodgers.
Kobe Bryant to the Lakers for chain smoking Vlade Divac to Sacramento.
The reason why I bring it up is because the Spurs asked for the whole Laker team basically, plus draft picks for Kawai(sp) Leonard.
Any other terrible trades you recall?

That is up there with Babe Ruth. Yeah, I should have excluded that trade too. What were they thinking...

I had to look it up, but the year before Doyle was traded to Detroit he went 5-10 with a 4.13 era. That for Smoltz is a bad trade. Awful. 3 years later, his last year. Doyle finished with a 6 wins and 18 loss record for that season. 18 losses in 1 season? Awful trade.

George was good though. Sammy hit the roids too. Maybe from the financial aspect of packing a stadium Sammy was a big deal, but I don't see having Sammy as good in hindsight. He is kind of a blackeye to the game imho.

after he had only attempted 4 passes in his lone season there, two of which were intercepted.
But yea, that one didn't work out well for the Falcons

Although, I bought a condo on the beach in Encinitas Ca in 2002 for 178k. I sold it 4 years later for 275k. I looked it up a few weeks back and it is worth 1.2 million. I blew it.

wiki reason
Jul 6, 2018, 11:01 AM
|
|
His nickname was The Chief, after the fictitious Chief Bromden, a silent, giant Native American character in the film One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. According to Parish, former Celtics forward Cedric Maxwell gave him this nickname because of his stoic nature.

Not a trade, but the 2 worst draft picks ever were
Jul 6, 2018, 4:23 PM

Hakeem Olajuwon (#1 - Houston) and Sam Bowie (#2 - Portland).
They passed on Michael Jordan who was the 3rd overall pick in the 1984 NBA draft.
Of course, Ryan Leaf says Hi! too.
