Very good to hear Venables telling that to our players. Looks like he's got plenty of fire in him.

Love watching Venables

You can feel the passion he feels and I hope the players can tap into that we they play D. Aside form a few players, our D had little fire or passion in their eyes and a passive D is one that gets 70 put on them.

The D needs to have a Branch/Thompson/Moore attitude

you could always count on those three to bring it during a game with fire and intensity and low and behold they had all of the sacks, give or take a few.

Would have been nice if they'd done that in miami.

really? Just because you saw videos of them jet skiing for a couple hours doesn't mean they didn't practice. They earned that leisure time by winning an ACC Championship.

Earned leisure time and then enjoyed it too much and got 70 hung on them. I am not saying they didn't deserve to have some fun, but too much horsing around and a lot of people that spent a lot of money to see them play got embarrassed along with themselves. Sad to hear reports of them asking the other team to let up. I am tiger through and through, but seeing them play around and then get lit up irks me.

There is absolutely no evidence that proves "leisure time" is what made our boys unprepared. I am willing to bet EVERY single bowl team has similar outings to what ours did, including WVU.

I noticed something really interesting in the Venables

portion of the video. A few guys were REALLY, REALLY dialed into what he had to say (Hawkins, Parker, Anthony, Townsend). And a couple of others--especially #34 (and #46 weren't paying any attention. And both of those guys were some of the WORST guys we had at LB last season. Coincidence, or ????

I did see #34 Christian look a bit bored and he wasn't a big contributer but our best starting LB was #46 Tig Willard as he always gives his all and plays well.

Willard was the "best" of the bunch, but that isn't saying much. The point here is that Venables will coach the talent we have UP to where we expected them to be. Venables put it best: You WILL be exposed 100% of the time if you don't play good technique.

That's Hawkins our MLB whom will most likely be losing his job to Anthony next year, hopefully. I like that to me it seems that Venable will put out there the guys who listen and do the right things. Now Hawkins is rarely ever pit of position but he simply doesn't make plays. He got the most snaps out of any LB last year and Anthony had the ONLY 2 sacks from our LB corp and he was out there roughly 1/4 of the time conpared to Hawkins.

That's how it should be. I don't care if its Justin Parker, Lateek Townsend, and Spencer Shuey starting (definitely won't be) if they get the job done and can do their job they need to be on the field whether they are 5th year seniors or true freshmen. Clemson is out to win.

It sure was bellamy. His blocking definitely needs work and he needs to gain a few pounds. I hope he works hard this spring

Vic is trying to back up Crawford as the Bandit DE. besides he never worked out at LB and with the numbers there, and the young talent, he wouldn't see the field.
