Why are these games not on network tv?

I get that "everybody" has cable these days, but actually some don't. What happened to the allure of "network tv"? If your ESPN, why wouldn't you want it on ABC?

Television is going through a transition. Soon enough subscribers will be able to pay for what channels they want and Disney is in line to take the biggest hit (they own over 20 channels in your cable package). If they put this on network TV it gives you one less reason to pay for the entire Disney package in the future.

As much as everyone likes to bash ESPN, we wouldn't get to watch a good bit of our regular season games without them.

I have a digital antenna, and a high speed internet connection for streaming Roku and Apple TV. I can watch espn using a friends log in, but I may go somewhere and watch.

Figured it was stupid to pay cable to watch 4 football games a year on it (I go to most every game) because I do not watch TV with the exception of sports.

Same here. This has been a pretty good year for watching the Tigers for us OTA folks...

Really can't understand why ABC wouldn't want to broadcast the CFP games. ESPN has been losing subscribers. Surely they could charge more for commercial time on ABC vs. ESPN
