Someone trying to take his "Championship rings and money"? The rings had to be from high school and youth football because all he received from USuck was a fifth place ring.

I was thinking the same thing. Apparently the cops do not keep up with Gamecock football because there was no championship ring. They should have known something was wrong then.

Was thinking the same thing-maybe he was delusional about the championship rings or maybe he mistook his SEC ID card as a kind of championship lol!

My guess is (and this is pure speculation at this point) is that Mr. Miles has fallen on hard economic times. He decided to try to discreetly sell his "championship" ring for some sort of illegal substance, and there was an altercation involving fire arms. He realized after the shooter bolted, that this would look bad, so he came up with a story of being robbed. (not realizing that Columbia Police Department would actually be on the ball on his case, and figure out that his story didn't add up)

Well, of late, the Columbia police do seem to have given the coots a pass. They haven't been in the news nearly as much as in the past, and you know they have not stopped being thugs.

To garner sympathy for something - to have a story to sell his way back into the NFL, or, as he asked SS, a way to get back in with the football program. Either way, it's garbage, a bold faced lie, a waste of resources and should punished to the fullest extent of the law.
