What's the benefit of voting early?

Oct 28, 2020, 10:26 AM

I've never heard of this, but many of my friends are voting early and standing in a 2 hour line to do so.

I've never had to wait more than 20 minutes to vote. Seems like there are less options available for early voting, which equals longer lines. For example, you can't vote early at the place where I vote.

b-line,

At least they have minds to change.

I voted early and waited in line 1 minute...

the key to early voting is finding a window when you don't have to wait for hours.

They can go out and vote early? Where did that come from? I can see avoiding long lines but cannot get out to vote come on man.

If she's a screamer, she'll get you arrested.

I voted early via drop off absentee; took 5 minutes.

conflict or potential conflict on the last day of voting. In Anderson, the lines at the early voting spot have been much longer than they will likely be at my polling spot on the last day of voting.

For mail-in, the advantage is less people at the polls in person.

Oh yeah, have done absentee. Just never heard of actually

Oct 28, 2020, 11:34 AM

going to a polling place early. Is this a Covid deal or has it always been an option?

I feel like an idiot asking this question.

My wife and I voted 3 weeks ago. LOL

Oct 28, 2020, 11:37 AM

dropped it in the box and it was counted last week. Boom. Done.

Now we can watch you all cry about lines and such.

Caddie,

I think people are particularly worried about long lines, safety, and other problems with same day voting.

They are getting some lines anyway.

My precinct is crowded. And it's usually that 2 hour wait. I like to compare it to a ride at Disney World: Stand in line for two hours for one minute of disappointment.

I voted early for the first time ever and will likely do it from now on. And now I have that day to play.
