well - I left mid 7th, but I noticed we never bunted thru 6 innings. We had a perfect opportunity once to move the runners into scoring position at 2nd and 3rd, but we didn't do that. I think Jack would have bunted. I thought that was the only real difference that I saw from previous years. We never had an opportunity to turn 2, so not sure how good we are at that. We looked okay IMO, but our middle relief sunk us as the Maine bats woke up when he came in. Our starter was okay IMO. I didn't really see anything great, but we were okay for game 1. No ORANGE smoke from the Cajun Cafe today. Don't they do that if we hit a home run?

Only real bad thing is the CF ran up on a fly ball and it went 20 feet over his head. Maybe no communication between the outfielders - dunno. That decided that ball game though, so I guess it was the worst play of the day.

Well I'm glad to hear that! The "small ball" that Jack liked to play was frustratung! At least for me anyway.

^^Yeah - I just found it interesting 'cause I'm so used to seeing that. It's like Jack would resort to that on so many occasions, and this seemed like a different approach to the game. I liked it, but it just felt weird.

Anyway - it was interesting, even though we got the "L".
