I agree, Doritos are better than Tostitos

Sep 15, 2014, 3:59 PM

But deciding on the dip is still half the battle. To dip or not to dip? Mindblown.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Now we're getting somewhere!

Sep 15, 2014, 4:03 PM

The dip is where Tostitos may at least even things up if not take a slight advantage.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Love Danny, but the good old days return only with great OL!

Sep 15, 2014, 3:59 PM

.....and the last great Clemson OL just happened to be when Danny coached.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

On a more serious note

Sep 15, 2014, 4:01 PM

Danny would have fired Batson years ago.

Nope, just the games we need to accomplish 3 out of 5 of Dabo's team goals.

Yep those 11-2 season just don't get it when you lose the only 2 games that really matter the most.

ROFL

Sep 15, 2014, 4:04 PM

yeah because if Dabo was going 2-10 and winning the games that "matter most" everything would just be rainbows and unicorns on Tnet, right?

2-11 in the ACC even wake can do better than that.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Welp, you were making a pretty absurd comment

Sep 15, 2014, 4:08 PM

so figured I'd follow suit.

I used to enjoy your posts, now you've turned into some super pumper that is no different than the ones going around calling everybody coots just because they don't agree with their opinion. Maybe you're trying to kiss up to some of the ones on here that hammered you over the big 12 stuff..who knows. Don't know where the Danny stuff you're mentioning is coming from but I will say this, I don't think Danny would've let Florida State come in and beat us by 6 touchdowns or lost 5 in a row to those a holes. Not bashing Dabo, but you brought up Danny

We had one bad half in a game

Sep 15, 2014, 4:15 PM

and suddenly Dabo can't win any games that matter.

And apparently 11-2 means nothing if the losses are to South Carolina and FSU.

Re: We had one bad half in a game

Sep 15, 2014, 4:25 PM

I didn't say that, the way we lose to those teams is what's in question. No way with the talent we have should the Tigers get embarrassed at least 1 or 2 times every year. Sure you can't win them all but good lord !

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Ok, well

Nope, he'da run iso right at the MLB until FSU proved they could stop it. :)

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: We are never going to return to the good ole days of Danny

Sep 15, 2014, 4:08 PM

Totally agree. The second half play calling at GA was opposite of the first half. Stop mixing it on offense. Keep doing until they stop it. Defensively if don't get back to old school slobber knockers we will never ever win a national title. They've got to induce fear in the opponents.

Re: What makes you think Danny Could Have Competed in this era?

Sep 15, 2014, 4:30 PM [ in reply to What makes you think Danny Could Have Competed in this era? ]

Danny played the triple option, which was the most effective during that time. Today he would adopt the most effective type of offense. Why wouldn't he? I just don't think people understand how effective he was. For example, he visited to the most advanced school of that time in strength and conditioning. He adopted their methods to make our players the strongest and toughest.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

About the only thing I would replicate from Danny's teams

Sep 15, 2014, 4:20 PM

is the physical strength and toughness. Other teams HATED to play Clemson. Every team on our schedule feared and respected us. If we lost, it was almost always a close, hard fought game.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

how many games did Danny lose that we were heavy favorites

Re: how many games did Danny lose that we were heavy favorites

Sep 15, 2014, 4:26 PM

Don't know. But I do know we played UGA every year when Vince Dooley was coach (just behind Bear Bryant in SEC win percentages). I believe Danny won more than he lost against Dooley, and the score difference was usually a field goal or a touchdown.
