Watching the COVID-19 death tally for the US....

Jul 14, 2020, 6:22 AM

Looks like saying "the death count is falling" is becoming less valid by the day. For whatever reason, the count has cycle to it, such that the numbers fall off Saturday-Monday, and the highest counts are on Tuesdays. If that holds true this week, then there's certainly a trend that suggests that today will have the highest death count of any day in several weeks. I hope this is not the case.

Wednesday 7/8 - highest Wed. since 6/10
Thursday 7/9 - highest Thurs. since 6/4
Friday 7/10 - highest Fri. since 6/5
Saturday 7/11 - highest Sat. since 5/30
Sunday 7/12 - highest Sun. since 6/7
Monday 7/13 - highest Mon. since 6/8

lag and test turnaround also has lag due to volume... Pretending it's "magically" gone away is for the foolhardy...

Circling back around on this...

The death count yesterday was up there, and is on the level of early June numbers, but it was a little smaller than last Tuesday, so that can be viewed as a positive. I hope there is not an upward trend.
