The athletic staff can tell if the ACL was loose when they

Nov 16, 2014, 6:28 PM

checked him on the table ...

They are right. 90% of the time. I know Dabo is waiting for confirmation, and hopefully it's not an ACL... but they can diagnose that by feel and be right a high %.

Here's to hoping it's not.

They can feel laxity in the joint

Nov 16, 2014, 6:31 PM

They don't know the extent of the damage. It won't matter this year, but there is a big different between a functional tear requiring surgery and partial tear that only requires rehab. You can't tell that on the table unless the knee is just completely unstable, which it didn't appear to be.

Stop giving me hope.

I'm not giving hope for this year

Nov 16, 2014, 6:35 PM

Didn't he partially tear it last year in his high schools playoff game? Still have cannot find if this was the same leg?

MCL

Nov 16, 2014, 6:41 PM

Totally different thing. The MCL heals on it's own usually.

Was it the same leg?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I'm usually optimistic but not this time.

Nov 16, 2014, 6:33 PM

I got the feeling when he grabbed that knee. It got worse when the disappointment showed on his face while he was on the sideline talking to the trainer.

I'm afraid to hope for the best because I've already planned for the worst. I can't say I blame Dabo for not saying what he thinks though. I think he's waiting on a specialist to tell him how long the rehab will be.

yea... I feel like they told him it was likely his ACL

They probably didn't have to tell him

Nov 16, 2014, 6:35 PM

I'm sure he felt it pop.

Unfortunately I've watched LilCuda1 go thru 2 ACLs....

Nov 16, 2014, 6:59 PM

The 1st was painfully obvious and diagnosed on the spot....the 2nd was thought to be just meniscus issue bc the 'yank' tests (as I call it) by same doc produced false positive based on meniscus tear being "locked" in knee joint during those tests and it wasn't til MRI came back and was thoroughly analyzed that anybody knew ACL was torn again. Doesn't really apply here I guess just wanted to say sometimes it's not what it seems to be so hopefully that's the case here the other way. And Lilcuda1 will return to court again this December Better Faster Stronger than before...I fully expect Watson to do the same whatever the diagnosis. Go Tigers!!
