Has anyone else ever heard of University Lab School?

Louisiana State University laboratory School - Also known a U-High, it is apparently a K through 12 college prep school located on the LSU campus.

It is apparently used, at least in part, to funnel athletes to LSU; particularly basketball players.

Notable alums include Oliver Brown (former LSU basketball player), Collis and Garrett temple (former LSU basketball players), Chad Loup (former LSU football player), Doug Moreau (former LSU football player), Johnny Robinson (former LSU football player), Brian Kinchen (former LSU football player), and Glen Davis (former LSU basketball player).

Other than LSU being an $EC school, how is this not some kind of NCAA violation? Frankly I'm surprised that more schools aren't doing the same thing.

are from the area or were they recruited? Or like other SEC schools, their parents got "jobs" near campus. Link?
