I remember liking Berman's act in the 80s, but it just seems so stale and forced now.

I like Berman but he is the world's worst at picking winners in the NFL.

I wouldn't care if they showed all of them, except Herbstreit, the door. I think he really tells it more like it is than any of the rest of them, and he does it almost all the time.

Rumor has it ....

ESPN Senior Mgt is now largely composed of people who are more "into" Political Correctness" then Sports. ESPN has hired media types who have great experience in "mass media", but few if any are what can be called Sports Fans. You can guess the stereotype that are running ESPN now. Very liberal, out to change "the culture". We can write a book .....

I had a customer who worked for a long time for ESPN in marketing. He said the same thing to me about their management team and company. Each employee has to go through 3 separate training sessions on equality, racial issues, sexual harassment, etc. My company is once a year, like most I would guess.
They are definitely going through a shift in business to maximize profits (which they are doing well in still). My guess is they are having to go through culling the high $$ talent pool to guard against the loss of $$ due to bad contracts like the SEC and bowl games, as well as waning subscribers.

That I just don't watch ESPN unless we are playing football. So maybe he has gone downhill...I wouldn't know. He definitely helped to make ESPN into a juggernaut. I used to love his routine, but I've never been the type of fan who needed razor-sharp analysis. Case in point, I used to love Primetime with the Packman...and none of those guys (especially Packer) could analyze squat. But they had fun with it. Berman was fun.

The personalities they have now are race baiting, liberal agenda pushing morons. Its no longer about sports with them. They are social justice warriors and that's why people are tuning out... not bc of SEC biased. But if you are going to cater to the SEC... know your demographic... Southerners are going to watch the liberal bs they are hustling.
