to be in the playoffs.
It truly takes a special kind of moron to argue for a two loss team that couldn't even win their conference to be in the playoffs over a one loss team that did.
Justifying it by saying that they "almost beat Alabama" is weak sauce.

That it is very dangerous that the talking heads think these decisions of what team should be selected should be based on who people “think” would win in a match up. If you took this approach to the NCAA tourney you would destroy the beauty of the under dog.

Why even play the games? Just round up some ESPN and other football "subject matter experts" and let them tell you is the best team. Stupidity personified. Winning is real. Conjecture is possibility.

I'm wondering how many recruits will be drawn to a program with a head coach who would make an impulsive play call and literally blow game, set, and match.

Seems closer to a skirmish amongst a zombie attack than flogging a dead horse. ...also it’s a dead mutt so there’s that If it’s a dead horse it’s one propped up and taxidermied by a bunch of delusional fan bases and the argument is a full blown bloody nose pillow fight in the press and media.
Leastways, propaganda does not like challenges to propaganda. So there’s no way to truly quash the lunacy. This won’t be the last we hear of such matters.

To be on the committee. I love it and I know it drives Espn absolutely crazy that they can’t control this!

For the most part ESPiN does control the final PO lineup.

The taint from the preseason polls continues to stink up the room until the post bowl season poll is released. At that point ESPiN starts all over again pumping the fan favs which starts with the SEC.

And Chris Fowler should be relieved of his duties for not even attempting to play Devil's advocate with Herbstreit. If they're going to decide subjectively that Georgia looked better than OK and OSU last Saturday, they can also subjectively say that Alabama from the first half of the season would trash the Alabama that showed up in the SECCG. Subjectively, Tua doesn't double his number of interceptions for the season during the UGA game because Georgia is that good.
Go Tigers!

But but they pass the "eye test"! That is all that matters. So tired of ESPN heads talking about the "eye test". The Dawgs lost, better luck next year.

The fundamental issue is quite obvious to...
Dec 4, 2018, 5:50 AM

the objective person. The playoff committee is comprised of people who know more about football than those who make their livings talking about it. Obviously, with the SEC and ESPiN being business partners in the SEC Network there is some vested interest there.
Imo, ESPiN is promoting their brand, nothing more, nothing less. Ask Johnson and Johnson who makes the best baby powder, ask Bayer who makes the best aspirin or ask Ford who makes the best car. It's so obvious the idiots can figure it out.
