Obviously nobody saw them play against LSU. Bo Nix is horrible against decent teams.
How do you put a team with 1 decent win and 2 losses ahead of 2 undefeated P5 teams and other 1 loss teams?

I think it's funny.
The irony of them trying to keep the SEC ranked highly after losses is that in this specific case, they are giving a great reason for a 1 loss Oregon team to get in the playoff.
Just imagine when the season ends if they are comparing Oregon and Oklahoma and Oregon's only loss is to a somehow still top 10 or top 15 Auburn. Then Oklahoma lost to a barely over .500 Kansas State.
Oklahoma is a media darling with Riley and Hurts and all the points.
They would be trying so hard to convince everybody that scoring a million points against terrible teams (also applies to the loser of Bama vs LSU) is better than winning 12 games in a row.
The PAC 12 has never had an argument when being left out. This scenario would set up perfectly for them to really push hard to make sure everybody has a chance to get in.

I am selling both Auburn and LSU. And Florida, for that matter. I think the SEC is really Bama and the 13 dwarves, and I think it is the second best conference in college football this year.

since they are both unbeaten, but that's really about it. Everyone would be going just as crazy if Michigan was #11. I certainly wouldn't have ND above Auburn. SMU, App, and Cincy are all good G5 teams, but there's no way i would pick any of them to beat Auburn.

ND and Wisconsin have looked much worse recently than Auburn. Michigan may be rounding into form and playing better than Auburn right now, but it's hard to tell. Their offense has been good for the last game and a half, but it was atrocious the rest of the season.

287 yards of offense, but 98 yards in penalties. 15 accepted penalties (LSU was even worse.)
1 turnover
A coach who burned his timeouts early and denied his team a chance to come back. After closing the difference to one score with over 2 minutes left, Auburn could not stop the clock for the rest of the game.
I had hoped that Malzahn's program was improving. I guess I hoped wrong.
