Hoping they don’t wise up and throw tons of money at Dino Babers.

If Tanner is still there I’m guessing they will try to hire Frank Beamer.

Their history says they will try and hire Les Miles.
I would offer Venables 8 years 80 million just to try and screw us over, but they won't spend that kind of money.
Dino Babers is who they should hire, but he doesn't have the image that they want.
But, in reality, they will likely hire Lane Kiffin or Kendall Briles.

Perfect coaching scenario for Scar. So I looked him up. He was a star football player at Ball State. But he deaded last month. So, probably not available.

So it's gonna be someone 55-65 with no other options or hope.

though he might not be the most ethical coach out there. IMO he's one of the best in the business. I'd take him over Saban.
It's well known Notre Dame is his dream job. Oh and the real USC could also come calling.

A 3rd teir team in SEC east is not getting a top name coach

the path to the playoff is too hard. To build a program, he will need recruits. Recruits are not coming to USuC to be cannon fodder for UGA in the east and Bama, LSU in the west.
Spurrier may have won at USuC, but what he also proved was that you can win at USuC and it STILL not be enough to get you in the "conversation." He was their shot at the grown up table and he blew it.
They are relegated to the folding chairs eating off the coffee table.

the fact that the state of South Carolina turned out a high concentration of talent that hasn't quite materialized since. The pieces all came together for a moment, but it wasn't sustainable and even Spurrier wasn't winning national recruiting battles that Dabo is winning now.

is busting his ### to get that big time gig. Sure he will be a stepping stone, but his desire to get to the top will force him to build the foundation at USC before taking a mid level gig before taking a large gig.
Do that process a few times and within 10-15 years they may be back to average

He's been a winner at every school he's been to, and he hasn't been scooped up by a big name school yet. They could probably get him dirt cheap and would be worth the risk
His coaching history:
Division 2 Lenoir Rhyne - made it to natty in 3rd year as coach but lost The Citadel - took an atrocious 3-4 win team to a Playoff contender. Also coach when the bulldogs beat the coots James Madison - Won FCS natty in first year, lost natty second year. Lost in 2nd round of playoffs final year ECU - First year, currently 2-2 with losses to NCST and Navy

breaking the established habits that caused the downfall in the first place. I think the coots needed a fresh face. Unfortunately for them, they got anxious and bought the apple in the bin that had some brown spots instead of shopping other fruit stands for fresher produce.
