There would never be a good time for Venables to leave and

of course I want him to stau. But if he gets offered the Arkansas job, I doubt he would turn it down. I also doubt they would let him wait until after the playoffs to leave Clemson, although I think Kirby Smart stayed with Bama through the playoffs before he left for Georgia.
My questions:
How would that effect some of our defensive commits, most notably XT? Also, I'm assuming his son would change and go to Arkansas.
If Venables were to leave before the Sugar Bowl, who would be the coordinator for the bowl?
It really sucks, but I'm actually surprised he has not gotten a head coaching job before.

I seriously doubt that he leaves right now. His son has grown up wanting to play for the Tigers and now he is about to get his chance. Brent is not all about the money. He will leave one day but I don't think that the timing is right. I would guarantee that if he did go to Ark. I would not be before we make this current run.

I would expect him to turn it down actually. Just a guess though. He's not winning big at Arkansas. Tennessee, maybe I could buy into that if it wasn't such a dumpster fire. Doubt it hurts commits too much.

His choice, obviously, but (in my opinion) he could get a much better head coaching job than Arkansas, if being a head coach is what he wants.

Exactly. I think he’s just waiting for the perfect opportunity.
Michigan could get fed up with harbaugh pretty soon. Not saying that would be the right fit just saying Venables will be on the top of the list wherever he interviews.

There's a good chance Jake would still want to come to Clemson even if his dad takes a new job. Hopefully the whole family stays where they are, such a great fit.

I don't think Venables actually has any desire to be a HC.

And look at all the turmoil in the head coaching ranks.

BV likes stability. He’s having fun at a place he likes and is well paid. As a head coach you risk having to uproot your family whenever there’s a downturn.

I think Arky offers the Chad before BV, Only because of head coaching experience. I think both are very familiar with recruiting in the area.

Brent said that the contact

was between his reps and Arky(meaning they called),he then went on to say, he'd rather grow where he's planted, and you usual suspects still don't get it.

I hope they are a dumpster fire. But only selfishly.

They fired their AD, and then fired their coach on the field. Going with less than super at this juncture.
