My son is getting one for his Bday, had all grandparents and parents split 4 ways. Couldn’t get one at midnight last night, then tried this morn at retailers, GameStop had 5 and got there at 7am, already 5 of the ugliest virgins sitting there waiting since the night before.
Then Walmart only was selling at noon today online for pickup, those were gone in seconds. So haven’t gotten one yet, it’s just frustrating.

some sort of fairly local gaming forums you could go on and pretend to be a big tittayed blonde who was willing to trade 'favors' for a brand new Xbox. From there it's just a matter of meeting them in the parking lot, giving them a mean look and taking it. Remember, there is a mask ordinance so you're covered there, just make sure to take your license plate off and any identifiable decals.

I would assume the Series X which will be the tougher one to find as I assume it will be the more popular option. If your son won't be playing on a 4k tv, you might be fine getting the series s.
Personally, I'm getting the PS5 because of the first party games, but gamepass on xbox is a heck of a deal.

They are intentionally creating a supply and demand issue. I expect the same when the PS5 releases on Thursday. Best bet is to get on the waiting list with GameStop, Amazon, Target and Wal Mart and hope to read the email within 10 minutes of them saying it’s available.
