The way they have the playoffs now

Dec 5, 2014, 11:30 PM

Would be better if you could move 2 cupcakes to the beggining of the year and call them preseason games or tuneup games if you will and then force every team in the power 5 conferences to play 2 teams from other power 5 conferences. That would truly give you the top 4 teams in the country.

Just think though if Miss St would have won out, they would have the weakest OOC schedule going into the playoffs. Just sad!

Just my opinion, but the only way to make it fair is to make all of the power conferences
divide into 2 divisions,play a championship game,then increase the teams to 8,take the 5
conference winners plus the next three highest ranked non conference winners.
Oh,and make Notre Dame join a conference, and play under the same rules.
You could still start off with a cupcake game,or play your instate rival at the end of the season( Clemson vs USC for example would be the one game against another conference)with each power conference scheduling one game against another power conference.
Still, each team would still have to play the same number of conference games either in division,or cross rival games like Tech/Clemson.
In the long run ,four teams I don't think will cut the mustard.
It's going to have to come down to 8 at some point.
