The play that still haunts my dreams

3rd and 19 and that cross eyed lurch lucking dude lumbers through our line like he is dragging an anchor and has a club foot. I think, a linebacker has to see him, right, right, but no, no linebackers notice Herman Munster trudging towards the first down marker like he is running in quicksand, and then I think, O.K. one of our safeties is going to come on and drop this guy, cut him in half, make his mom cry and cause a prayer circle at mid field, but no, our 5th year safety Rashard Meeks or is it Jonathan Hall (I'm almost convinced they are the same player) runs up and starts spastically slapping at the dudes wrist, and then escorts him gently out of bounds a yard past the marker. It was at that point that my sad grew the largest.

I didn't feel reasonably competitive at that moment.***

but i think on that play he chose poorly leaving the semi-sized hole on our defensive right to run thru.
breaking containment bad, meeting lurch around the five with candy and flowers more bad.

But the safeties were late coming up.
Thompson is actually faster than he seems. I just watched it again and he doesn't look in slow motion like he did live.

I'm not even sure he would have been down in 2 hand touch.***

The play that haunts my dreams is Mike Davis scooting away

to make it fourth and a foot instead of fourth and 3 or 4. Does the Ole Ball Sac still go for it on the confidence of how his line is blocking? Does he kick the field goal and give our O one more shot with 5 or so minutes remaining? Do we block the field goal or he shanks it? We will never know. Davis sets up an easy first down make, TD a couple of plays later. Game over.

I expect him to make plays. Lurch Jr was supposed to sit in the pocket and throw picks and get sacked...he tried to throw picks but we refused to help him out.

Hard to make picks when your DB's are 5 yards off the WR's

and they do simple curl routes in the middle of the field. I thought I was watching the Patriots offense in the first half. Second half, like the last 4 years, regardless of who is the Coot QB, they start getting the QB runs that drive me insane.

If they could catch they would be Wide Receivers instead of defensive backs.

They are mostly used as cones.

Yea he got about 19.1 yards on that play - just enough

Would have felt better if he'd at least picked up a couple more yards... Too unbearable.
