amount in compensation is not gonna happen.

Look at it like it is a popularity contest

Little Johnny doesn't want to wear a Ben Batson jersey
He wants to wear a TL jersey. TL gets comped, BB not.

Alot of folks want to redistribute some TL's money to Batson.
Regardless of the commitment level to our program
being the same, one of the two of them is more valuable. in terms of marketing.

The shortstop on the new women's softball team isn't gonna get compensated for her likeness

Some people outproduce others in the same environment, its just the way the world is

Redistributing the compensations is socialism...not fairness

My counterpoint to what you are saying is Tua's injury last year.

If Bama had a Ben Batson to come in a take snaps at the end of games, then maybe Tua would not have gotten hurt twice last season.

If Tua is healthy, maybe he beats Clemson.

Which of the scenarios makes Tua more money?

Being hurt, possibly out for a season, or staying healthy and helping his team win at a high level.

Obviously injuries happen early in games just as much as late in games.

At the same time though, to say that just because a player's likeness is not coveted by the masses that they are not earning money in some way is very narrow minded.

The same can be said for o linemen.

I like Ben Batson, but I am not going to argue that he is better than Jalen Hurts. It will be interesting to see how much more the transfer portal is used in order to cash in at the college level.

A comparison to Jalen Hurts would have been Chase Brice.

That is not at all what I was referring to.

Batson is the lowest man on the totem pole.

Batson plays scout team so the other QBs don't have to.

Batson comes into the game when we are up 50 to save the other QBs.

Batson's value is in allowing Trevor to focus on just being the starting QB and playing until the game is out of hand.

Dabo has spoken many times about the value of getting starters off of the field to save them for the future.

Guys like Ben allow the starters to stay healthy, to focus on just their starting job, and to keep from getting run down and having a drop in performance by the end of the season.

Ben doesn't make himself more valuable by coming in at the end of games. He makes Trevor more valuable.

That is why Ben being rewarded in some part for Trevor's likeness is a deserved reward.
