The Notre Dame brand in the state of Georgia

Perceptions of the Notre Dame brand have swung wildly up-and-down in recent years down in Georgia. I know this as resident of the north Atlanta suburbs.

2015: Clemson beats ND. Not a big deal at all, because ND sucks.

2017: Georgia beats ND by 1 point. This is HUGE deal and a MONUMENTAL victory, because ND is a great team and an historic program.

2018: Clemson waxes ND 30-3 in the Cotton Bowl to earn a berth in the National Championship game. This Clemson victory is not a big deal, though, because ND sucks.

2019: The upcoming Georgia-ND game is an historic event. This is the biggest game in Athens in a generation. ND is a great team and an historic program.
