I liked STS for their football IQ, however....

they seemed to be negative just for the sake of being negative. I don't mind criticism when it's warranted, but I hate it when people are negative just to "be cool".

They didn't have a football IQ....

they just copied and pasted from How To books about football. The knuckleheads even posted a pic and blog about route receiving that was from the USA Football website, which was formed by the NFL to unify standards for youth football. So STS was posting route receiving blogs from instructions that were intended for children just learning football.

going on in Clemson's athletic dept to b*tch about??
I very, very seldom visited the site (always from a link), but EVERYTHING I read there ranged from extremely negative to downright stupid.

I've been to that site twice - counting today - so big loss to me. I wish them well. They can come here and teach us the game.

Did I like everything they wrote? No but I don't like everything Tigernet writes either. I'm going to miss their insight into both players as well as game breakdowns. And I know I'm going to miss QuakingTiger and his recruiting updates.
One less Clemson site to visit.

of Clemson sports. I didn't always agree with what they said, but understood where the points were coming from. The insight and film review were always great, and something that I'll miss. Also the pre-game roster comparisons and the views from opposing team sites. Right now it's just DrB leaving, but I guess we'll see the fall out soon.

I'll miss them. Sounds like SB Nation was making them be something they didn't want to be. His post had some interesting insight into how some websites are run. I've never thought these websites made much money but I didn't know it could be so little.

way. If he didn't like the direction that SB wanted them to go he shouldn't have signed on....
Question....does anyone know if that was his full-time job? I'm curious about this statement "I'd much rather play golf and post when I feel like it".
Who wouldn't want to play golf instead of working???

I vaguely remember someone mentioning that the site was actually run by an engineer and a scientist (they were being serious)...so I believe he's one of those two guys since he was the head of the site.
Not sure how he sounded spoiled. He mentioned that SB Nation started out as a blog for teams whose only "shared" thing was a common template. However as SB Nation has grown in popularity, they've tried to force the individual team sites to conform to what SB Nation thinks they should be. I believe they've been around for 6+ years now, so things change. I don't blame them at all for not necessarily want to conform to what the HQ wants them to be.

year. I have issues with anyone who cant see past their own personal feelings, be it a sunshine pumper, or a dumper. They werent truth tellers...they were flat out dumpers. Somewhat knowledgeable, but couldnt get past their own feelings to see what was actually going on.
