Texas A&M - 2018

Dec 24, 2017, 2:06 AM

Hey guys,

Thinking about destroying Dumbo Fisher in College Station next year gets
me giddy. I'm planning on attending graduate school at Clemson in
2019 for architecture, and plan on using my gap year to work out west
next May-October in Jackson, WY. Was wondering if anybody has
ever been to College Station before for a game? I was thinking of trying
to get down there, but was not sure whether or not it would be worth it.
I heard its a pretty cool environment….

Any new stadium is worth going to if the Tigers are playing

Hated I missed the last time we went there even though we lost. Glad I get a 2nd chance at it.

Great in-game environment. Kyle Field, especially for a big game atmosphere, is very cool. College Station, however, is the pits and the tailgating stinks-- nothing close to Clemson or other SEC schools.

I'm going to fly to Houston for the game, as I

have family throughout the area, many of whom are A&M alumni.

They thought I'd prefer Houston, then driving up with them to the game. Actually, they are pretty excited about watching Clemson, although even at this early date, they expect a Clemson win.

Yes. You should definitely go.

Fans are great and welcoming. It’s a huge stadium. My wife is an Aggie, so I’ve been a time or two. Ticket prices may come as a shock to you, though. Seemed to me like the tix for Alabama at aTm when johnny Manziel was there were kinda off the charts high. Bought in the upper deck of the Alabama section... $400 per ticket. Stubhub. If you know any locals who could swing helping getting you a ticket, would definitely be worth a try. Most Aggies will be welcoming and offer you to tailgate with them. Hope you get to go. Enjoy!

I've been living in enemy territory for almost 3yrs now. Married into an aggie family with some deep roots. Dinning options are improving with a number of Austin restaurants and other chains moving into College Station and the Century Square development opening across from campus. Four hotels opened in the past year. Tailgating isn't bad but it is hard to compare with Clemson.

All reports from our previous game with AnM were positive.

Everyone proclaimed they were the finest of all SEC fans.

The good and the bad

Have A&M ties so been to several games there in last few years.
Good:
Awesome unique traditions - esp the core. Make sure you get there early to see them parade in and stay for the band at half time.
Great fans - nice, welcoming, loyal
Great student section - loud and they will stand the whole game
New stadium - 3/4ths rebuilt from the ground up in the last couple of years
The bad:
Like Clemson on game weekends hotels are outrageous. May want to stay in Houston
Their tailgating is meh compared to Clemson
