Because the ridiculous targeting call, does Greene have to sit out any part of the Orange Bowl game?

Wasn't it in the first half? If so he should be good.

Targeting occurred first half, suspension served second half of the ACCCG. He's good to play against Oklahoma.

Why do you think it was a ridiculous call? Looked like the exact definition of the rule, IMO

I say it was a ridiculous call because Greene was not targeting the opposing players helmet - he was not aiming for it. The guy was lowering is head. If you look at the replay, you would see that Greene's "aim" was about hip level where it should have been.

Football is a collision sport. Helmet-to-helmet cntact is just going to happen. I don't believe any player currently targets another player's helmet. This penalty should not be called unless it is OBVIOUS that the contact was on purpose!

A separate point! - Remember when Watson removed himself from the game for a play, because he was smashed in the side of the head by a defensive player's helmet? I don't think it was intentional, but the "Linesman" official was looking right at it and did not throw a flag.

yes, but he'll...

We used our ND odd year conference exception this year therefor any targeting is treated as a 2nd half infraction. Bottom line is he will have to sit in the 1st half due to this quirky rule.

No, because it was during the first half of the game.
