Suggestions for visiting Chapel Hill?

Decided last minute to go watch the tigers stomp the tar heels this weekend. Have tickets and hotel. Too late to get tickets to the Family Tailgate. Any suggestions on what to do, where to go Friday night and Saturday before the game? Advice for parking for the game?

The big “Carrboro Music Festival” is a lot of fun on Sunday

It’s free and only a couple of miles away. I know you said before the game, but I thought you I’d mention this for those who are sticking around.
Dozens of musical acts going on in various venues all over the center of town.

If I were you I would drive to Raleigh for the Wide Open Bluegrass fest Friday night (A lot of free shows if you don't want to buy tickets to the bigger shows. CH is small enough to check anything worth checking out Sat/Sun https://worldofbluegrass.org/wide-open-bluegrass/

The "Crying Jordan" statue is a must see (be sure to press the button on the statue to hear MJ say "The ceiling is the roof!"). And don't forget to hit the brand new Museum of False Academics. It's brand new and state of the art!

I use to park RV off Franklin bear planetarium behind a beautuful old church half-way down Franklin St...but plenty of street parking can be found early.

Was traveling home to Greenville from Washington DC, and thought we had a good shot at winning in Chapel Hill...we may have even been favored...so I stopped to take in a piece of history. What I got was another piece of an historic streak.
My one and only trip to Chapel Hill!

Spanky's closed around a year ago.
The restaurant that replaced it is owned by the same people.

Best places for good beer on draft in CH to me are Bottle Rev, Beer Study (I think technically the communist republic of Carrboro) and Brixx Pizza though there may be others now as it has been 4 years since I spent much time in that area.

And take any penicillin pills you may have left in the bottle with you.
Also, go get some Holy Water and garlic to on you as you move about.

Late Night with Roy on Friday “Night”. He’s so old it starts at 6:30. Free to the public at the Dean Dome.
