Like the man he’ll be taking over for in Neal Brown, Lindsey is another in-the-family hire dating back to the Larry Blakeney era. After a 13-year run as an Alabama high school football coach, Lindsey broke into college football as Blakeney’s quarterbacks coach in 2010.
Lindsey returned to the Alabama high school ranks in 2011-12, then returned to college for good in 2013 as an offensive analyst on Gus Malzahn’s SEC championship team in 2013. That success led him to offensive coordinator stints at Southern Miss, Arizona State and then a return to Auburn in 2017-18, where he helped the Tigers win the SEC West in ’17.
Lindsey is currently on staff as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach under Les Miles at Kansas.
