for over 50 years. However, rightly or wrongly, I've formed the impression that great football teams have both strong offensive and defensive teams with an offense finely balanced with both a running and passing capability. Maybe, that's an oversimplified understatement; maybe, completely true or partially so. Regardless, I don't believe any team will maintain longevity of greatness without the above, for I have witnessed too many lacking in some part, which have eventually fallen by the wayside.

Hartkins, I agree w/ your assessment totally. I 've just seen teams w/ high powered offenses and just respectable defenses win championships. I've never seen a team w/ all defense and no offense win any championships. You have to have a contribution from both. If we had ANY type of defense Saturday night, not a dominant one, just a bend don't break, we would've won the game

We won an ACC championship last year and it sure wasn't
