I think it might be more complete simply because of how good the secondary is. The defensive line isn't quite as explosive but they don't have to be with the corners locking things down. The question will become how depth affects this defense as the season goes on. Our starters are picking up right were we left off and it was good to see some backups making plays this week.

We miss GJ and his lightning quickness inside but Goodson, Boulware, and the other LBs look quicker to me. Beasley was a freak but Dodd and Shaq are more powerful and better run defenders. Our Secondary is more physical too....it's still early but I think this bunch might end up better overall....if we keep recruiting D killers and BV hangs around, we might be seeing the long term return of Clemson D that looks and hits like the loons we had running around from 1988 to 1991 time frame when it was comical watching those killers blast folks.

The Clemson D is always highly rated

We give the D better than any other team in the ACC. We give the D hard and fast and sustain it throughout the duration. Most of the time, by the end, the opponent is tired of being slammed by our D and just gives up.

Remember now , in 2014 we got lit up on defense in 2 of our first 3 games ( UGA/ UNC ) . The real issue is that we are stout against the run . Would like to see a bit more pressure up the middle , but those DL's of ours are really good . LB and CB/S couldn't be better . I bet we finish in the top 15 when all is said and done .
