1. Closest game against #19 Ole Miss on the road. Alabama wins 48-43 needing two defensive TDs and one special team TD. Chad Kelly threw for over 400 yards on 40 pass attempts while Ole Miss could muster 100 yards rushing. Alabama owned time of possession and their rushing attack netted 334 yards.
2. They played #13 Auburn at home. Won 30-12. Auburn did nothing getting 7 first downs, passing for 116 and rushing for 66 yards. Alabama had good qb play with 298 yards and 203 rushing. Clemson won AT Auburn 19-13. We passed for 248 against them behind a big day from Mike Williams and rushed for 151 in our first game of the year.
3. They beat #13 LSU 10-0. This game was 0-0 in 4th quarter. Alabama held LSU to 33 rushing yards since there was no passing threat. LSU passed for 11 completions and 92 yards with an average pass of 3.8 yards. Alabama did little passing and relied on rushing game. Alabama had 216 rushing to 107 passing.
Alabama had like two turnovers in some of the games above.
4. Beat Arkansas 49-30. Arkansas QB passed for over 400 yards. Their RB only got 46. Arkansas dominated time of possession but had 5 turnovers. Again Alabama running had more with 264 to 253 passing.
Throw in USC, Tennessee, Texas Am, Forida, all rankings are very different now than beginning of the year. OH and you have Miss St, Western Kentucky, Kent, Kentucky, Chatanooga, etc.
DW needs to be lights out 400 yards or more like Ole Miss(former Clemson second string QB) and Arkansas have already shown can be done. Avoid turnovers. Stop their rushing attack. Repeat BCS performance and we have a national championship!
