True story : my ex lived in a room in a house on Green St. and two Hooties lived downstairs. They were practicing and playing covers around 5Points. This was about 2 years before they inexplicably became famous with their particularly nauseating bandy ballads.
She used to tell me that the guys below her sucked seawater and would never make it . She was wrong.
I never understood it. In my honest that was unlistenable , fluffy tripe they got rich off of.
Now I am a self aware music snob , and lyrics are important to me . Also , good instrumentation . Hootie , had neither. Just my opinion.
