much like crane technique. If do right, no can defense.
Hitting for average, moving runners over, stealing, taking the extra base is a great way of putting pressure on the defense. Let them make the mistakes and have a big inning. The sabermetric dorks might have a point in MLB, but in college putting constant pressure on the defense will almost always turn out in your favor. Getting that lead off man on is huge. Especially if the pitcher knows he's a threat to steal. Steal second. Sacrifice him to 3rd and you've got an easy run in the inning.
Our problem is, we are trying to play gorilla ball with players who have warning track power, who don't hit for average, and aren't running the bases all that well.
And our defense sucks. Not only with the actual errors but allowing them to get extra bases by throwing to the incorrect base etc.

Two HR's over ten games !?!?!
It's a good thing we moved home plate closer to the fence.
That sure was money well-spent.

Nothing wrong with small ball but in order to do it you have to play good fundamental ball behind it. Clemson does not do that under Jack.
