Gamecock basketball: Losers on the court. Losers off the court.

What a mess.

Frank Martin is an ###! He has belittled and cussed his players everywhere he's been.

Unfortunately for Martin, with only 14 people in attendance

for their home games, every single fan can hear every single word he shouts. Were he winning a little more that fan base might put up with it, but at the current pace I don't see that marriage lasting too much longer.

Fortunately for Martin, with only 14 people in attendance...

not many people actually witnessed the outburst.

We had more people there than you can fit in Littlejohn.

Don't be fooled by the Attendance figure they post in

the box score. That includes all spoken for ticket sales and promotions, not turnstile #'s. SCar's biggest problem ultimately for basketball is that outside of KY, when a good 1/3 are UK fans that help fill the place, that cavernous arena is like a ghost town. SEC basketball is a lifeless entity. There's no passion, no rivalries, nada.

FWIW, it's also more people that can fit in Cameron Indoor. Wanna talk atmosphere?

LOL...believes tickets sold is the same as actual attendance***

as it has ever been in my lifetime and quite possibly in the history of the program.

Paying Frank Martin $2 million annually to replace Darrin Horn has really worked-out well for them (rolling eyes).

At the current pace, Martin's team will be lucky if they can match the record that Horn's last $CU team achieved (10 - 21 record overall with a 2 - 14 record in the $EC). At least they were only paying Horn $1.1 million for such lousy results.

Yeah but they don't care about basketball remember? lol If they suck it in, it don't count. Atleast we're pretty relevant in all 3 major Sports...2 for sure, b-ball has a legitimate shot at a top 25 bid if they pull off another big upset.

is throwing their players under the bus a prerequisite for

becoming a head coach at usuc ? sure seems like it, either that, or they are great at picking out the biggest ######-bags that are in the coaching profession !

Doesn't he pretty do this all the time?***

Serious question, what are your thoughts on him as a coach?

[1]
Posted: Jan 21, 2014, 3:55 PM

Give him 1 more year, or longer?

Well, of course.

Needs at least 2 more years, after this one.

What if there's no improvement next year?

Keep in mind, I have no idea what type of recruiting classes Martin has brought in and is working on for next year.

I think he will get five years ...

Posted: Jan 21, 2014, 5:09 PM

.. no matter what. But, he would start feeling heat from fans if there isn't improvement next year. He is safe with the folks who hire and fire for a while though.

How has his recruiting been?***

About the same as ours except for Thornwell

[1]

he has to get at least Dozier and maybe Woods from his own back yard. Maybe, just maybe if they continue to flounder we can really get in the picture on those 2

striperfan, obviously I don't follow coot basketball at all

Posted: Jan 21, 2014, 5:38 PM

so was Martin basically left with nothing? Or is this another example of Horn being a press guy and the current players don't fit the current style?

It's one thing to not be competitive, but to not be competitive against the bottom of the SEC is pretty bad...and yes I am aware of our losses to Auburn and Arkansas.

Recruiting is always going to be a challenge for him IMO...

Because of his well-documented temperament, kids are going to be reluctant to play for him.

Unless he pulls a Slurrier and a couple of very highly ranked players fall bass-ackwards right into his hands, recruiting well be an on-going problem for him.
