SC had a crucial 3rd and 1 so they gave the ball to their 4th string RB who failed to get the 1st down. Every player on SC's team saw that. Every player knew that was a stupid call. Every SC player knew their 1st team RB would have gotten a first down.

This is how teams get demoralized by inept coaches who make inept calls.
