ACC. Keeps the DC market and offers a national following, while making ND happy.

Heard this from my UNC friend who supposedly has some inside knowledge.

"When I die, I want to go peacefully like my Grandfather did, in his sleep -- not screaming, like the passengers in his car."

"I don't suffer from insanity. I enjoy every minute of it."

Good then we will be gone with Florida State!***

Navy as a football only member, then pick up Georgetown in all other sports! Huge national following in football as well as an upgrade from Maryland. Plus great basketball program in Georgetown. Keep DC market in all sports!

The money is in football, not basketball (see Big East). None of this football/basketball only mess. Georgetown does nothing to help Clemson.

Swofford may just get the last laugh on everyone....

With the right adds he may just may be able to cobble together a ND approved conference. We would have the ND division:

BC
Navy
Wake
Miami
Pitt
VT
UVA
ND

Take a look a their schedule and you will see all but VT and UVA on it, then give the ACC an 9 game conference slate, and there you have it......

Who knows where this will all land but I am not counting out Swofford as he is as dirty as Dean and the rest of the Holes....

If his source is the InsideCarolina message board then it's worth about 2 cents

Clemson doesn't care about basketball....as evidenced by Brown-L getting 14 years.

As cool as it would be to play Navy, I'd prefer to schedule them out of conference by replacing them with a cupcake. Problem would be that they would play at Death Valley and part of the "coolness" would be playing them at Annapolis with the cadets in the stands.

Navy would not be a good addition for sports. Face it, the best option out there in Notre Dame and they don't need the ACC. Looks like Louisville is the next best member, followed by Cinci. Swofford and Co. messed up passing on WVU.

Isn't there a history with GT and BC and Navy too?

I'm not into ball history that much, but I thought those two schools also have a long history of playing against Armed Forces teams just like MD.
