medical advice please

mild cut to finger (paper-cut deep, no blood) washed, ready to apply band-aid look through medical supplies junk box stored in closet for some sort of antibiotic find old tube of Neosporin notice EXP 08-2004 on tube been using this tube for years (obviously-you can NEVER use an entire tube of that #### in a lifetime) I ain't driving to the store
So: Yea or Nay? Can Neosporin actually expire, and if so, how? It's just some sort of vaseline-looking stuff that doesn't even sting when brand new. It's Oldosporin now, I suppose.

You have a cut, that isn't bleeding and isn't any worse than a paper cut and you're wondering if you should put expired neosporan on it? Let me ask you this. If it wasn't expired, why the #### are you putting neosporan and a bandaid on it at all?

every time you touch something if you don't put a bandaid on it to keep the slice together. I usually use NewSkin on small cuts (stuff is awesome) but this cut is in a knuckle crease and the NewSkin won't take there.

Or hand sanitizer (same thing). Or some 3% peroxide. Put a little oldsporin on it bandaid. Get milk outta freezer. Reload the lint trap. Report tomorrow with results.

it wasn't actually a paper cut, my words were misleading

I said it was "paper-cut deep". Actually cut it while messing with my lawn mower somehow, didn't feel it when I did it, just when sweat started getting in it.
But yeah, thick leather gloves are a safety standard I should adhere to more.

Bad news:

Neosporin antibiotic eventually breaks down; it retains its wound-healing properties, but also causes AIDS.
Good news: you already have AIDS, so let's get that wittle cut all healed up.

Im still using some Mercurochrome that I inherited from my grandpa. I think it was outlawed before I was born. It #### sure is expired.
Free tip: The best thing for skint knees, btw, is bactine. After your kid cries to you over a skint knee and you spray that Satan #### on it, they'll never complain about a cut to you again.
