CHESTER, S.C. (FOX 46 CHARLOTTE) – Firefighters are battling a large fire at Carolina Poly, a polyethylene manufacturing plant in Chester, South Carolina.

The massive fire is affecting trailers containing plastics along the 1570 block of Lancaster Highway.

Their parent plant in Grand Prarie, TX,had a scrap fire last week just like this one. Housekeeping is non-existent in Chester, appears to be the same in TX. I`ve been in the plant several times doing work and it`s a dump. The fire may actually improve it. It`s ironic that the main product produced there is trash bags
