The best thing Clemson can do is bust Clowney in the mouth over and over. That way he couldn't talk that classless talk. I guess he has learned from the master Spurrier. I know Coot fans think he is Superman but he isn't. Sure, Clowney is a great player but one person doesn't beat you. Remember, bust him in the mouth over and over.

I have 3 (+1 about Nuk) responses to that
Jul 18, 2013, 10:22 PM
[ in reply to I'll give Tajh credit, he said the right thing there. ] |
|
1.) He did not reference any other players or "talk trash". The interviewer was asking Tajh Boyd what he thought of HIMSELF and Tajh Boyd responded that he, personally, thinks he is the best QB in the nation. He didn't say anything like "Yeah I'm the best around, so Manziel, Murray, McAaron and Miller (wow, a lot of M's!) better watch out because they're not on my level! Clowney took a shot at another individual, which is bad PR in and of itself.
2.) Tajh's comments were MUCH LESS arrogant. In fact, all Tajh was doing was being confident. He didn't say anything out of the way of self absorbed. He just said that HE PERSONALLY thinks he is the best. He did not say HE IS the best, he said that in his PERSONAL OPINION he was the best. Clowney outright said that those 3 quarterbacks are scared of his D-line and said nothing else.
3.) Tajh was literally asked the question "Do you think you're the best quarterback." He was just responding to what he was asked. Clowney's comments were out of no where and uncalled for.
4.) As for Nuk's comment, what he meant was that he doesn't do smack talk at all, whether before or after the game. Even if Clowney got 8 sacks on Tajh, there is no reason you should be smack talking. If you want to claim dominance, do it on the field. Yes, Clowney has already done it, but that still doesn't give him a right to talk trash, it's just classless and bad PR. Not to mention, Clowney has yet to do his talking THIS YEAR, which means technically it's premature. Hey, we have one more game with Tajh and Clowney in it, you never know what might happen. So in other words, Nuk was justified in his comments as well.

I can back up all of our comments with hard evidence and deductive reasoning. There no "orange kool-aid" about it. If you disagree with any of my responses, feel free to go ahead and rationalize why you believe your opinion to be the one that is more correct.
I'm not someone that wears orange glasses, trust me. I fully recognize that not everything revolves around the Paw. However, I'm here to stand up for what I believe in and use my deductive reasoning skills in order to do so. Nothing I said was outlandish, all of it was backed up and had reason to it. If you feel a certain way, try to justify it. Otherwise, your opinions will carry about as much weight as a feather on the moon.

Here's Cocky Clowney's comments after last year's game...

A coot just reminded of Clowney's comments after last year's game: http://www.foxsportscarolinas.com/11/24/12/In-Gamecocks-win-Clowney-proves-dominanc/landing.html?blockID=825485
This was Clemson after all, four years in a row..."I don’t know how it feels to lose to Clemson," Clowney said before he walked off to the bus, "I’m not going to know how it feels, either."
Seems to me that he thinks he's a prophet. Tigers, lets prove this year he is not one especially at his home too!

Re: Football Player Update: Tajh Boyd's take on Clowney's "scared" comments

I watched the South Carolina game last year, and Boyd definitely wasn't scared. Boyd like many QB's, may have gotten flustered against the better defenses his first year as a starter, but he was always a winner. Also he has progressed to the point where I don't recall seeing him being flustered at all last year. He looked like a pro/winner tht did whatever he could do to help his team win. Against the coots last year he wasn't getting the time/openings to throw tht he was accustomed to, so he boldly/wisely tried to make plays with his legs wherever he could in order to help the team win. He showed more courage and fearlessness in that game than any other imo...He knew everytime he ran he was gonna take some blows, but he did so under control and showed some nut in doing so. And if we get a call or two to go our way near the end of the game maybe we would've pulled it out...The coots D definitely gave little room to operate, but tht doesn't mean Boyd was scared. He put himself out there time and again, in order to get some tough/much needed yards, but give credit to a stiff coot D.
Im actually rlly excited about the way Boyd has progressed with his running. When he first took over a few yrs ago I was scared he was gonna fumble everytime he ran. Now he runs with a true purpose; runs intelligently/under control; protects the ball, and has some nut. He has seemingly learned/grown comfortable in picking his spots wisely. I actually don't recall seeing a QB progress each in every year in all phases like Boyd has done in his career at Clemson. Must be good coaching and a heck of a worker/talent.
What I see are defenses tht will likely have a legitimate fear of an improved Clemson Offense. An offense that can both wear you down -n- blow you up...and has a destroyer in Boyd at the helm
