Jackson Carman playing time

Regarding Jackson, one thing I’ve been wondering about is how much playing time he will get.
I have read some articles regarding him and I get a flavor of there being an idea that he may not even see the field this year and he has a LOT of work to do.
Given how high status of a recruit he was, and I remember when we landed him I was estatic, it seems weird to me there wouldn’t be more hype about him right now?
I dunno- I want to hear your thoughts from some insightful t-netters.

He was apparently a little overweight entering spring practice, but he's been working hard and getting his weight down. He has a whole summer to get in shape and get caught up to the speed of college ball. He got blown off the ball by Justin Foster in the spring game, but you have to think, it's his first time seeing 5-star defensive talent as well. He will play this year and will probably make a great impact. If not, he will in the future. Not all freshman come in and are ready to go. Shaq Smith was a 5-star and is just now getting an opportunity to start in his 3rd year

All I've ever heard was he has some work to do but looks like a giant. That's it.
Unfortunately, OL doesn't seem to get as much coverage as other positions.

If Jackson plays and does not Rs then that tells me that we are going to lean on the run game slightly more next year.

He shouldn't RS even if the plan is only to give him

limited snaps and let him ease his way into the position. The live game experience is more valuable than saving a year of eligibility he will likely never use.

He will not redshirt from what I have heard, he is going to go through summer workouts to lose weight as he was considered still overweight. He needs to cut off some extra weight as he's a tackle not a guard he needs to be mobile but is too talented to redshirt. He's going to need this valuable early playing time.

Schedule is ideal for him to get a significant # of snaps under his belt as a TF

That poor kid, I stalked him like crazy on social media, just lurking but never commenting. Only thing I found out was he likes to go out on the lake and loves big dogs. I screamed so loud when he committed I'm surprised neighbors didn't call the cops. . I think he's gonna be a good one, just needs to be patient.

Yeah I was thinking that but Mitch Hyatt came in and was a star as a freshman.
