Will Shipley's announcement on Instagram.

May 6, 2020, 12:10 PM

I don't understand how it all works, but I do believe what folks are saying. Once the NCAA enacts kids being able to earn money on NIL the social media, specifically Instagram, will be a major tool used. (Talking heads I heard last week were talking about how a couple of female gymnasts were - according to some marketing gurus - capable of earning 750K on social media.

Well, looking at how professional his announcement was done, I suspect he will be one of the first to figure out how to earn money on that medium.

The ones earning that kind of money on IG are selling products. Not sure that our football players will be directly selling their own jerseys, least I hope not! I thought it was more of a situation where they will be getting a percentage put into an account from the money Clemson gets for selling their jerseys. Am I wrong?

There are plenty of instagramers that are making a ton of money not selling products. Just being an influencer is enough to make a lot of money in sponsored ads.

limit social media if social media wants to pay players to post crap?

Like I say. I don't understand.

While I think kids are going way overboard in announcing their committments, I was impressed with the professional way in which his was done. He obviously has access to a very good social media marketing source.
