When will everyone here admit

Dec 19, 2012, 8:53 PM

That Brownell is not nearly the coach everyone thinks he is.

No attack here. Frustrating. But the games I've seen, the

guy seems to know what he's doing. I don't know what happened tonight. 2-12 from Jennings is awful. I'd like to read some insight from people who actually saw it.

Hopefully we can turn it around this year, but if not, we have a very young team whose senior leadership might just be letting them down (possibly...like I said, I didn't see it).

Brownell sucks. He's a decent defensive coach and maybe the worst offensive coach in America. No gameplan at all

Pretty good job so far with what he has had. Jennings is horrible and plays like a freshman this team is very very young and have some key injuries. We will continue to get better and I can't wait til Jennings graduates.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Haha ok whatever you say.

Dec 19, 2012, 9:09 PM [ in reply to You know nothing about basketball...he has won everywhere... ]

2 years he's gone. A defensive team that plays terrible d and scores 46 points. You know nothing apparently.

Things I have learned about Tigerfan301 tonight.

Dec 19, 2012, 9:14 PM

1) He is indeed a fan of the Clemson Tigers.

2) He is 301 years old.

3) He has a man-crush on Brad Brownell.

Wait.....let me try this again.

Re: Things I have learned about Tigerfan301 tonight.

Dec 19, 2012, 9:26 PM

I think Brownell is a good guy, but (much like Dabo when he was hired) I'm not sure he is up to the task at hand. I also think the challenge of winning at Clemson in basketball is more difficult than
it is in football.

Having said that, Dabo has done well (other than losing 3 straight to South Carolina) IMO, given time to hire his own assistants and recruit his players, etc.

I would prefer the Clemson athletic department had more of a sense of urgency when it comes to hiring coaches. There are many that are forever loyal and will pay to watch Clemson athletics win or lose. (no matter who the coaches/players are) However, there are some that feel that Clemson should have elite athletic programs; and therefore should be more proactive in regards to winning.
