I hate to post a negative but the turf at DV is subpar. Seems like with all the resources we have we would have one of the best turfs out there. Someone will chime in to say it’s being converted over to winter rye or something. But how about other team’s turf? They seem not to have this issue.

I would agree but I didnt notice as much slipping and falling as there was last week at GT

I believe the playing surface is solid, but the grass doesn’t look “pretty”. I know we redo the field every 5 years. Maybe they will switch to one of the newer varieties of Bermuda that will hold up much longer into the fall.

I'm assuming they oversedded a couple of weeks ago which means if it's like my yard, it's should have come in by now and be ultra green. Bermuda is still hanging on right now and will until we get a freeze. The looks however doesn't ultimately matter as long as the footing is good. Rye will get really slippery as it holds moisture much more than Bermuda

The field is fine. Great Bermuda grass turf. The rye just needs to come in a little more. I’m sure they are seeding rye again right now! It will look “prettier” by next game.
