I have wondered since the suspension how long he would stay there. He's done well but I think both he and Gene Smith have alienated the trustees to the point they may not want to stay there long term. Future pay raises and other things they want may get the cold shoulder. And then there always seems to be some lingering health undertone with him

One must wonder if he is setting up his exit strategy from OSU, in case the Browns come calling. Heck, if he could put together 5-7 wins per year for the Browns, they would rename the stadium after him.

Then leading a NFL team is essentially suicidal.

It might improve his health. No more stress from recruiting, as his players will already have their money.

No stress to win either... you get paid just to show up. 3 wins in 3 year is all you need for that sweet NFL cash for about 3+ years

Why? It’s probabky 1/2 the time required, no year round recruiting, no dinners with boosters, the fan bases are generally easier to appease (at least compared to where he’s at), and the pay can be the same. Plus you’re dealing with pros and not 18 year olds. Sounds pretty nice to me.

Hearing rumors that Urban will finish out the season and then step down at the end of the year citing health concerns.

From afar it looks to me his health issues are anxiety/panic attacks

He looks very uncomfortable at times, not quite like Tommy Bowden did, but similar

Obviously he is not a well liked coach now, primarily because of his handling of the Courtney Smith situation and his subsequent lies about it.
However, I wish him good health. If he has dealing with this since 1998 and kept it a secret, why make it public now? He has to know that this will hurt his recruiting, as all opposing coaches will use the "Urban won't be there much longer if you choose OSU, so choose my school" speech. Sort of like Spurrier's 2-3 more years comment. Of course, we are talking about a completely different level of recruiting between Scar and OSU, but the same concept applies.
So I agree with those saying he is setting up his exit at the end of this season. Otherwise he would not be sharing this today.

I don't care for the man but I hope he does not have a very serious medical problem. Seems like every time he gets in a stressful situation, he comes up with a medical excuse. He can't say I made mistake or I was wrong.

I agree. I don't like him,but I don't wish bad health on anyone. Perhaps the stress brings on the horrible headaches or at least aggrevates whatever his medical problem is.

Wonder if he's told Shelley, his wife, about his health issues. They don't seem to have a very communicative marriage.
