Taking nothing away from Manziel or anyone else. CJ Spiller's senior year, without a shadow of a doubt, pulled the veil back on how much of a joke the award is. His top 10 plays that year ALONE were better than any other player that year.
You could also make a case for Tajh this past year.

is him splitting the middle of the field and leaving everyone on the field even though they had angles. I also recall the kickoff return where he lost his shoe.

All I know is that he scored more touchdowns in one game against the coots than George Rogers did in his whole career against Clemson.

It was Maryland! I remember because CJ took off, and you could see Jacoby sprint past him to get the last block. Probably the only time we got to see the great speed of those two side by side on the same play.

The fact that Te'o was in it at all is really revealing when you look at where he stacked up statistically against other linebackers. Alas, perception is everything, and thus Colin Klein nor Tajh were represented fairly for the years that they had, statistically.

but the winner of this years Heisman, Johnny Manziel and the runner up Manti Teo, fail big time when it comes to character.
