Thank goodness we've finally learned the "rugby style" punt

Jan 1, 2017, 10:06 PM

Now if we could just kick every kickoff 5+ yards into the endzone....

One more. Offense is rolling. Defense is playing inspired. Happy to say I'll be there to witness our 2nd national championship.

Agreed. Saw Teasdal do that on the second punt and I knew they had changed his style over the break. Good job by Andy and the coaches.

Yes, nice to see indeed. We are determined to not let our coverage game cost us another natty.

That, cover Howard and don't allow Bama to score a nonoffensive TD.

It's not really how we kick it in rugby but that's besides the point but Clemson rugby is really good I haven't paid to much attention for a little but last time I checked we beat the citadel 80-0

I didn't even think that was our same kicker. I thought "Where has this guy been all year?". Didn't he have a 68-yd punt once? We haven't seen anything close to that. Kudos to whomever fixed that.

I was thrilled with the change mostly because it was a departure from tendency. OSU knew our punt game was weak (so did everybody else), but Teasdall's placement of the rugby rollers removed any opportunity to mount a return. That's awesome.

The fear with rugby style is the unpredictability of the bounce/roll and the absolute necessity to drive the ball to a favorable spot on the field. Inaccuracy or a weird hop could hurt...

That said, Teasdall had a great game, and so did just about everybody else!

GO TIGERS. BEAT BAMA.
