TV for Tailgate

Sep 22, 2015, 4:30 PM

Does anyone know of anyone at Clemson who does this for tailgaters?

Just want a simple satellite hookup for a TV so I can watch games before Notre Dame game.

Any companies or students do this?

potential revenue stream for tnet. @B-Meist could charge people to set up TV's at their tailgates for them.

Sooner or later he needs to add me to payroll so I can boost their profits by 1,000%+

Not sure about students or companies. But i bought an adapter that plugs into my phone to hdmi. It works great. Just eats alot of data.

That's exactly what we do. The adapter that you need to plug your HDMI cord into for iphones or iPads is $50. To prevent one phone from using so much data, we just rotate phones or iPads and watch the watch ESPN app. Its really easy.

Not to my knowledge....

I would think the logistics of the whole thing would make it impractical.

I have a 42" LCD, a Honda 2000 generator (Painted orange. The plastic is EASY to get off to paint) and best part, the Dish Network Tailgater dish. Depending on if you can find some Wifi, you can use a Roku with WatchESPN. The guys with the in motion setups work good, and if you want, you can just get a tripod for the dish.

Different folks have different setups, and mine is pretty typical, it's also easy to stow if everyone's leaving the tailgate.

We use an HD dish and tuner. Many of the other spots in

Sep 22, 2015, 9:11 PM

lot 2 do the same. Some also have the auto tuning dish, but this is not necessary. If you have an extra dish and tuner at home, a TV you want to bring and a small generator (MUST be less than 68 dB) then you're set.

The 2000W Honda mentioned above is very quiet and more than adequate. We're set up in spots 443-445 in lot 2. Come by if you need a little help.

You don't need a $1000 generator just for TV

Sep 22, 2015, 10:37 PM

A deep cycle battery and a small inverter will power a LCD TV and the tailgater for 14+ hours

Adam is right about Roku or even Cromecast

Use your phone's data plan for streaming the game to your TV.

I bought a tripod and dish for a Directv setup for about $100 three years ago. They were very helpful. I bring a receiver from home. It worked fine hooked directly to the car battery. I now have a Honda generator. The store is on the right on 123 near Seneca. I don't remember the name of the business.
