Trump is trying to stop an ad that uses his quotes.

I don't see how he can have the FCC pull licenses for TV stations that play his previous statements freely given on national TV and/or at his political rallies. For a reminder, see the link: https://twitter.com/i/status/1242193904553865216
You are welcome.

It's the media's fault for constantly pointing out the things he says.

I'll actually agree with you:
Instead of defending himself against the baseless charges he was impeached for, he should have led off every press conference warning us about the coronavirus.
No one would have listened, It wouldn't have stopped it, or spared a single life, but we could be blaming your media friends right now instead of Trump.
And blame is all that matters.
Get a life.

of context garbage in another thread. So I'll repost as well...
Funny how you TDS folks take a clip out of context. That clip is an out of context cut from the Presidents press conference on 26 February. What he was expressing was that he thought the original 15 infected people would go to zero from them all recovering. Now later in that same press conference the following exchange happened:
Q In just the course of the last couple of minutes, you have disputed some of what the officials that are working in your administration behind you have said about the risk of coronavirus and its spread. Do you trust your health officials to give you good information?
THE PRESIDENT: Oh, sure.
Q Or do you trust your own instincts more?
THE PRESIDENT: I don’t think I have. They’ve said it could be worse, and I’ve said it could be worse too.
Q You said you don’t believe it’s inevitable. That contradicts what the CDC —
THE PRESIDENT: I also think —
SECRETARY AZAR: They said it will be worse.
THE PRESIDENT: No, I don’t think it’s inevitable. I don’t think it’s inevitable. I think that we’re doing a really good job in terms of maintaining borders and turning — in terms of letting people in, in terms of checking people.
And also, that’s one of the reasons I’m here today: getting the word out so people can — they’ll know. They’re going to know.
No, I don’t think it’s — I don’t think it’s inevitable. I think that there’s a chance that it could get worse. There’s a chance it could get fairly substantially worse. But nothing is inevitable.
If you bothered to listen or even read the transcripts of the press conference in its entirety, the President clearly stated that things could get worse. Not just once but many times throughout that press conference. Was the President also trying to put on an optimistic face in that things might not end up as bad as the predictions? Absolutely. But at no time did he tell or has he told the American public that we were in no danger of this virus infecting more people than the original 15 people.
You TDS guys really take the cake when it comes to intellectual honesty. You peddle these out of context snippets in order to try and paint a picture that the President was ignoring the COVID-19 problem when the truth is President Trump and his task force were the only people doing anything about it starting in January.
If all you Democratic Trump haters were so smart and saw everything coming, then what exactly did your Democratic party leaders do in January that helped fight this virus? Did they hold any House Committee hearings? Did they hold any press conferences to inform of us of what was coming? Did they pass any funding bills in January to start increasing our medical supplies? The answer is NO! The Democrats didn't do a darned thing because all they cared about was that waste of time impeachment hoax. So it is awful rich seeing all these out of context snippets and fabrications trying to tar the one guy (President Trump) who actually started taking action in January to stem the onslaught of this virus. Maybe it is about time you anti-Trump crazies put down your crackpipe of hate and start figuring out ways to help instead of fomenting fear as part of Team Apocalypse.

Nice work, tabbyplague! If people like hopperscat spent as much time trying to be productive for this country vs attempting to end Trump's term as President, think how much better we would be...before COVID-19. Thanks for your response.

I’ll grant that some of those are out of context, but he contradicts himself in every news conference. Everything is doublespeak. It’s a great strategy because he doesn’t know ### he’s talking about and when he gets called on it, he’ll just bring up that it was out of context. He’s a dullard. I was a Republican, I’d like to be one again, but he’s an embarrassment.

than Democratic, but Trump is a reminder not to take our system for granted. Our congress has become almost useless in partisan warfare with power slowly stripped away by each president. This comes from both sides. We need a selfless president who can unite and lead us, but I don't see it possible with the primary system, social media, and cable news. Maybe covid19 will bring some unforeseen change.

There are plenty of us moderate conservatives that hate Trump. We are far, far to the right of socialism and all the other extreme left views. We are deeply saddened that the Republican leaders defend him just because it is Dems doing the attacking.

2 questions
Mar 30, 2020, 1:42 AM
|
|
1. Do you agree President Trump will win a reelection?
I don't think there's a candidate out there who can do a better job.
2. Will you remain angry and distraught for the next 4 years?
That would not be good for your health.

THIS is the REAL STORY of COVID-19 in the United States...

Bill DeCommio, a LIBERAL New York Dim-ocrat, is responsible for the MASSIVE outbreak in New York, making the United States number one in the world in total cases. His assistant, Andrew Cuomo, gets runner up...
https://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2020/03/29/cnns_tapper_to_bill_de_blasio_are_your_past_comments_to_blame_for_rapid_spread_of_virus.htmlCNN's Tapper to Bill de Blasio: Are Your Past Comments Partially To Blame For Rapid Spread Of Virus? Sunday on CNN's "State of the Union," Jake Tapper asked NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio if his comments telling people to go about their normal lives during the early stages of the coronavirus outbreak could have contributed to the massive outbreak in New York.
"In retrospect, is that message at least in part to blame for how rapidly the virus has spread across the city?" Tapper asked, referring to clips from earlier this year.
"Jake, we should not be focusing, in my view, on anything looking back," he replied. "This is just about how we save lives going forward... This was a very different world just a short time ago."
"Mr. Mayor, weren't your actions in this outbreak also far, far behind the curve?" Tapper stated.
"I think the big historical point here that will be looked back on is if this country had the testing we needed this could have been a very different reality," de Blasio said.

“Now the Democrats are politicizing the coronavirus. They have no clue, they can't even count their votes in Iowa. This is their new hoax.”
You will say that he didn't mean it literally, that he was referring to their actions as the hoax. But he was comparing it to the "Russia hoax" and the "impeachment hoax." So which of the three hoaxes isn't actually a hoax?
This was incidentally just a few days after he sent 18 tons of medical equipment, including N95 face-masks, to China because he didn't anticipate needing them.

I love it. Trump fans consistently use this board to circlejerk their love of Donald Trump and there's no problem.
As soon as you go against the circlejerk, THAT'S when political posts become an issue.
I love the lack of self-awareness and hypocrisy.

Why does this board have to keep getting filled with political views and junk?? Can you guys not grow up and refrain from using this as a place for political attacks? I don't care what side you are on....this is getting ridiculous that we can't come on here to look for discussions about our team/sports/school and go even 3 posts without listening to everyone complaining and whining because of their political views.
