So what did we like about the spring game?

Apr 13, 2014, 7:46 PM

I think I've read 100+ plus opinions about Chad Kelly, Cole Stoudt, quarterback battle, etc. Understandably this topic has dominated conversation but I was wondering what others thought about the rest of the many athletes that took the field.

Notable guys who may have made a statement in that game about a role they could eventually play in the CU program included Tavaris Barnes, Wayne Gallman, Ryan Carter, TJ Green, BJ Goodson, DJ Howard, Jordan Leggett, Kurt Flemming.

Saw a lot of good athletes out there Saturday. Our secondary really impressed. Our defense could be scary good this year.

The one thing I really liked

How Morris handled Chad Kelly... Did you hear about that?

Seriously- I thought the RB's did a good job. Would like to see more Gallman.

I am personally unsure about the O-Line, I would like to hear what others saw/think. I know we had them split up and our Defensive 2-deep is much stronger than our O-line 2-deep, but I personally didnt see much to get excited about there.

D-front 7 is sick. 2ndary looks much bigger, faster stronger. Also keep in mind that there is not a Sammy, Martavis, or Peake out there...

Special teams looks good too.

Think we can put together a good 5 but tackle depth will be thin at best.

Wayne freaking Gallman. He looks like he could be a special one. Also loved how Tavaris Barnes played. Dude was always in the backfield. Mike Williams, Leggett, Artavis Scott, Demarre Kitt, all looked good as well. The best thing: Daniel Rodriguez pulling in 53 yards on 5 catches. The legend of D-Rod continues

Chris Register will be a name we better get used to. Also thought TJ Burrell stood out, too. Pinion's kickoffs will certainly help keep return yardage to a minimum.

I like the look of register as well. Looks like a future Stephone Anthony. Which bears mentioning I think steward will remind us why he was so highly rated out of high school this year.
