So... my daughter's ex clemson roomate has 2 cats named

Bowman and Tillman..so I was thinking about it, and I researched Bowman and found out he was CU baseball coach that died at 23 yrs old ! There is an educational component to this situation, for sure. Quite a story - apparently he left a mark on CU athletics, even at such a young age. Can't say I source checked this and am certain of it, but - if true - very interesting !

Thanks for that post; makes me want to research more building names on campus.

I do know that Bowen Hall (on the quad) was named for Robert Esli Bowen, a distant relative of my wife's. Bowen chaired the initial meeting under an oak tree adjacent to the Calhoun mansion that led to the establishment of Clemson University. He was one of the 7 men named specifically in TGC's will for the initial board.
