I see him mentioned on several sites as being a serious candidate for SC job. (Someone just posted he's the 3rd lowest betting odds, and those Vegas guys know far more than I.)

Other than his last name, what is the selling point of Beamer?

If USC is gonna hire a guy who has never been a HC, why would Beamer be considered a better choice than Rhett Lashlee or Brian Johnson (OC at Florida)?

Haven't heard Lashlee's name mentioned, but that would be a good marriage considering he puts his foot in his mouth a lot!

He was an assistant at uof6c under Spurrier

I believe he coached linebackers and special teams in addition to serving as recruiting coordinator.

No experience and totally unproven as a coordinator or HC.

Probably one of the least expensive solutions they can find but would ultimately be a foolish hire.

Let's hope they do it.
