Meh - cling to that if you want. College baseball is about Omaha < Finals < Championship. Taking solace in moving one round past Clemson while losing to a common opponent and losing the season series is pretty hollow. Just like bragging about conference championships is pretty hollow when four other teams are still in the hunt. It cuts both ways. College baseball is about Omaha. End of story. People who don't get that don't really get college baseball (which is a considerable number of Johnny come latelys post-2010.)

Of course there is always the "we beat you head-to-head" thing. The "final 16" is great and all until you compare who the competition was and then the final 16 isn't all that impressive.
