Recruiting: Offensive Line 2019

Jul 27, 2018, 9:18 AM

Already Committed:

3* OL HUNTER RAYBURN (Clemson)

Possibly Committing Tonight:

2* OL/DE COOPER DAWSON (Clemson)

To beat the dead horse...our OL recruiting is obviously very down right now.

We have missed out on nearly every target we have offered (see link below).

There is supposedly 3-4 spots to fill, but only 1-2 targets remaining.

Both of those targets are seemingly leaning elsewhere.

It would be HUGE salvage to flip 5* C CLAY WEBB from Alabama.

The last option is to find someone from a state like Kansas that no one is recruiting, like we did with S/LB Isaiah Simmons.

Why are we missing so bad? The experts try to spin it but it doesn’t work.

The only top offensive lineman in our recruiting footprint was Harry Miller. That was a miss, a pretty big one, but he was dead set on Ohio State. The other top lineman? Wanya Morris went to the shady depths that is Grayson High School, Darnell Wright is from West Virginia, Devontae Dobbs is from Michigan, William Putnam is from Florida State's doorstep, and Clay Webb is from Alabama's backyard. Sure, we'll steal some occasionally like Jackson Carman, but it's rare you go into territory that isn't yours and steal high profile guys from top programs. It's been a down year, yes, but we knew this. We have to make do with what we have and hope we CAN steal a few
